Ranch
Go to Job
Descriptions and Applications
The
M Lazy C Ranch is a family owned historic working cattle ranch
as well as a “World Famous Cowboy Playground” located 35 miles
west of Colorado Springs. The ranch is nestled in a high
mountain valley at 8,300 ft. and surrounded by thousands of
acres of Pike National Forest and Lost Creek Wilderness. The
ranch was homesteaded by the Thatcher family in 1906. The
Thatcher family, primarily truck farmers, hauled their potatoes
and other vegetables to Denver. In addition to the farming, they
raised cattle and other livestock. In 1992, Randy and Brenda
Myers purchased the ranch with the dream of making the ranch a
fun and exciting place to visit for their guests. They carefully
added a few modern conveniences to the buildings while
preserving a true OLD WEST setting for the ranch guests.
The
M Lazy C is not a typical “guest ranch.” You can expect everyday
to be different. It is a very diverse place. Our activities
include but are not limited to horseback rides, pack trips from
1 to 5 days, hunting trips, horse drawn hay rides, cattle work
(we have a small cow/calf operation), chuck wagon dinners, B&B
cabins, Cowboy Action Shooting Range, corporate team building
events, weddings, family reunions, wild west shows (staff
participate in these), special 3 day vacation packages, RMQHA
annual trail ride to name a few. The ranch also has RV horse
camping sites.
We
search for staff members who are mature self-starters, who have
strong communication skills and are team players. Staff members
must be flexible in their work responsibilities. Every staff
member will be expected to help in every area of ranch
operations at some time or another such as clearing tables,
cleaning up horse pucky, and grounds keeping.
OUR

Our

seasonal staff members who can begin working mid May to allow

given to those applicants who are able to work for the entire

table manners and a neat and clean appearance are necessary.

has to offer or venture to the many attractions nearby such as
the Pro-Rodeo Hall of Fame, river rafting, Royal Gorge, Garden
of the Gods, fishing at 11 Mile Reservoir or South Platte
River, and Pike’s Peak.
HOUSING & COMMUNICATION
