Cabin Person/Food Prep 

Our cabins are rustic, historic buildings that are decorated to complement the old west setting we have created for our guests.  Our cabins are an opportunity to show our guests how much we appreciate their visiting our ranch.  The Cabin Person/Food Prep position is an essential position for the ranch personnel.  The duties of this position include assisting with meal preparations - setting table, assisting the cook in some preparations, and serving our guests. You will assist our full time housekeeper with the cleaning of cabins, restrooms and common areas which includes changing linens, making beds, taking out trash and restocking supplies and goodies, washing, drying and folding all linens from cabins and assisting with the chuck wagon dinners.  Some cooking knowledge or housekeeping experience is helpful.  You will have an opportunity to occasionally assist in the barn, saddling or unsaddling horses or riding drag on rides.  Our staff needs to have a confident, friendly spirit that radiates when serving meals and must be detail oriented, outgoing and energetic.

Ranch Cook

This is a position that requires you to be a clean, organized, efficient, multi tasker, and a team player while still being able to manage and delegate. Good communication and people skills are a MUST.  You will have the opportunity to exercise your ranch/family style cooking skills as well as your menu planning, plate presentation, budgeting, and ordering skills. During the summer the cook is responsible for preparing meals for the staff, the guests that are staying in our B&B cabins, weekend chuck wagon dinners, and large corporate events.  We serve 3 meals a day to our staff plus breakfast for our cabin guests and as many as several hundred on corporate events.  Top

Wrangler Qualities/Duties

Our horseback rides leave our guests with fun memories of a great vacation that will last a lifetime.  Therefore our Wranglers are a very important part of the ranch operation.  The duties that are part of the Wrangler position are the feeding and care of the horses and cows, the preparation of the horses (grooming and saddling) for the daily rides, both for the guests and the general public, leading guests on trail rides, and all maintenance and general cleanup around the corral and ranch.  You will have an opportunity to assist in the doctoring of any animal that requires special treatment.  You must be willing to learn how to harness, hitch and drive a team of draft horses for hayrides. You will lead guests on overnight pack trips varying from 1 to 4 nights, caring for the horses and preparing and cooking the meals for the trip.  Horse experience is required.  In addition, you will assist with evening activities and chuckwagon dinners, serving from the grill, picking up plates and cleaning up after the meal. This is an extremely physical job requiring long hours per week. We are looking for individuals with enthusiasm, lots of energy, hard working, flexible and have a desire to be part of our team.  Top

Kid's Wrangler Qualities/Duties 

The Kid's Wranglers' responsibilities include, but are not limited to: all of the above duties as well as assisting with children's horse program which includes giving initial safety and groundwork instruction and ongoing riding instruction; guiding trail rides, group arena riding and games on horseback geared to individual riding levels.   The ideal staff member is a person who works well with children, is a dependable and positive role model to the campers while working with other staff members to provide a quality camp experience.  Riding and horse experience, as well as experience with children is required for Kid's Wrangler positions.  Top

Office Manager   (ALL POSITIONS FILLED)

Assist in all of the above duties: housekeeping, cooking, barns, chuck wagon dinners, etc.  Responsible for telephone reception, scheduling horseback rides & other activities, booking cabins & campsites, responding to telephone & e-mail inquiries, inventory, stocking & sale of General Store merchandise, inventory & stocking of groceries, toiletries, cleaning supplies, etc., light bookkeeping, public relations.  Our Office Manager is often the public’s first exposure to our tradition of hospitality.   Must become knowledgeable regarding lodging, activities, and pricing.  Must be outgoing and cheerful; greeting guests in a friendly and helpful manner.  Advanced computer skills are a must.  Top

Maintenance   

Empty all outdoor garbage receptacles each day.  Ensure that campsites and ranch are kept clean, raked, and free of trash, cigarette butts, manure,etc.  Verify that all campers have checked in and paid for their sites.  Inspect each site after guests check out and perform any necessary clean up and/or repairs.  Inspect each fire pit on a daily basis: clean up and restock (firewood) as necessary.  Clean and treat hot tub daily.  Make sure cover is in place and in good shape (no tears).  Assist guests in getting where they need to be for scheduled activities.  Assist wranglers, housekeeping staff and management as needed  Top
