Horseback Riding in the Colorado Mountains

We will be offering Horseback Riding all year round!

Horseback riding at the M Lazy C Ranch is a fun family memory in the making. Whether guests only have time for an hour ride, or time to spend a couple of hours or days with us, they are treated to  views of Pikes Peak and the Rocky Mountains that  Native Americans, explorers, settlers, cowboys, and ranch guests for generations have seen.

Every horseback ride takes guests through the Pike National Forest. Of note, those savvy  for a couple hours in the saddle on horseback will see where the Hayman Fire started in 2002 and how the forest is recovering. Native grasses, wildflowers, aspen, and countless species of wildlife are already taking back the land the fire destroyed.

Horseback Riding – ½ Day Ride

Horseback riding at the M Lazy C is a great way to explore Colorado history. Join us on a horseback ride, and ask us about a unique historical site:  the famous “Death Cave.”

In 1892, the bully in the Park County area, Ben Radcliff, picked a fight with the meek and mild Gottlieb Fluhmann who fled to the now famous crack in the rocks known as “Death Cave” where he was hunted down and shot after living there for over a month.  It would be almost fifty years before his remains were discovered and given a proper burial.  Evidence of his presence still exists today.

To go on this horseback riding adventure, here’s what you need to know!

  • $99/per person – Includes 3.5 hours of riding and lunch
  • Leaves the Ranch at 9:00 a.m.
  • Children 7 and older are welcome per wrangler’s discretion.
